Common questions about Xenos Fit, Casey, and how the service works.
Last updated October 31, 2026
Xenos Fit is an AI-powered personal training service. You get a structured workout program built around your goals, schedule, and physical situation, plus an ongoing coaching relationship that evolves as you train. You log workouts in plain language, your coach responds with feedback and adjustments, and your program changes as you do.
Casey is an AI, the Xenos Fit personal trainer. She conducts your onboarding, builds your initial program, responds to your workout logs, runs weekly check-ins, and updates your plan when something isn't working. She's available whenever you open the app.
Most fitness apps give you a program and leave you to figure out the rest. Xenos Fit is built around an ongoing coaching loop: you log what happened, Casey responds, and your program adapts. If you had a rough week, travel disrupted your routine, or something is bothering your knee, that context shapes what comes next. You also aren't tied to a screen to use it: every plan can be printed as a clean, one-page worksheet, so you can train with a piece of paper instead of your phone. It's closer to having a trainer than to following a plan.
Yes, this is one of the most common reasons people come to Xenos Fit. A lot of people with gym access, including through a workplace, don't lack the equipment, they lack a plan for what to do with it. Casey builds that plan around your actual goals, schedule, and available equipment, and keeps adjusting it as you train. Every exercise comes with clear instructions, and many link to demonstration videos. You walk into the gym knowing what you're doing. Read more →
Some people assume Xenos Fit is only for people who are into fitness. It's actually for anyone who knows strength training would help and isn't sure what to do about it. The quickest way to find out if it's right for you is a short quiz that will give you a straight answer, including “probably not” if that's the truth. Nothing you pick is saved.
No. Most people use Xenos Fit from a phone because it's convenient at the gym, but nothing about the app is phone-only. You can view and print your plan, chat with Casey, and log your workouts from any computer with a browser. Print your plan, train with the paper in front of you, and log the session afterward from a computer. Mobile phone adoption in the US is very high, so most users won't need this, but if you'd rather not carry a phone to the gym, or don't own one, that path works fine.
No. You can print your plan before you train and log the session afterward from any computer. Some people prefer this even when they do carry a phone, simply to stay off it during a workout.
Yes. Look at your planned workout before you go, check the instructions and ask Casey for clarification if needed. Take a one-page printout of your workout to the gym. Write notes on it if you like. Log the session afterward on your phone or computer. This is one of the reasons the printable plan exists: it's a phone-free way to train.
You can, and the plan you get might be reasonably good. But a few things are different. A general AI assistant you use for everything is, over time, building an extraordinarily detailed profile of you: your health, your finances, your relationships, your habits. An injury you mention or a condition you're managing becomes part of that same profile, held under terms that can change, with no guarantee of how it gets used later. There's also a practical difference: with a general AI, you're scrolling back through chat history to find your program or looking up exercise instructions elsewhere. With Xenos Fit, your plan, your exercise instructions, and your history are all in one place, built for training, so you can focus on the workout instead of digging through a conversation to find it. On-the-spot form corrections that a human personal trainer can offer are undeniably valuable, but in-person sessions can be a hassle to schedule and cost around $100 per hour. Using Xenos Fit is similar to working with a remote personal trainer, where the interaction is primarily through messages and logged workouts. How personal is a personal trainer, really? → Remote personal training costs around $150/month. Xenos Fit costs a small fraction of that, yet Casey is more responsive and available than a remote trainer. Regardless of the cost difference, some people who use Xenos Fit prefer it to working with a remote human coach. But most people who use Xenos Fit wouldn't have hired a trainer anyway, whether in-person or remote; this fills a gap that was previously unfilled.
After you fill out a short setup form, you onboard with Casey through a phone call or text chat in the app. Either way, it's at a time you choose, and there's no need to schedule in advance. Casey asks about your training history, goals, schedule, any physical constraints, and how you prefer to be coached. Your program is generated from that conversation and Casey's deep expertise in personal training. The text chat option suits people who'd rather not talk on the phone or want to take time to think about every question before responding. The call option suits people who prefer to speak or who are at their limit on screen time. Either path gets you to the same place.
Your program is found in the Plan tab. Each exercise has clear instructions. Many link to a demonstration video. Casey also includes personal notes on performing the exercise that are specific to your situation. When you're ready to train, you open your session for the day, work through it, and then log how it went in plain language. Casey reads what you wrote and responds. That response could include feedback, questions, and a suggested adjustment to your plan. There's no mandatory rep-by-rep tracking interface; you describe your workout the way you'd describe it to a person. See it in the app →
Casey programs strength training for gym environments by default, but your program reflects your equipment, goals, and other sports or activities if you have them. If you have specific performance goals, physical constraints, or preferences around training style, those shape what you get.
You probably do have goals, they're just implicit. Wanting to keep up on a family ski trip, stay strong enough to move through daily life without discomfort, or simply not lose ground as you age are real goals, even when they don't look like the transformation-focused goals the fitness industry usually talks about. Casey can work with that. Read more →
No. We hate that junk. Casey doesn't use motivational-poster language or promise dramatic transformations. The coaching is direct and specific: what to do, how much, and why, without the rah-rah enthusiasm you'd get from a typical fitness app.
That's the normal case, not an exception. Most people using Xenos Fit want to train consistently and see steady, realistic progress, not a before-and-after photo. Casey programs for that.
Yes, and this is something Casey takes seriously. Physical flags are part of your profile, they persist across your coaching relationship, and they shape exercise selection and notes throughout your program. Casey won't ignore them. For anything significant, she'll also suggest working with a physical therapist and won't claim to substitute for that relationship.
Yes. Weight loss on these medications often involves the loss of muscle as well as fat, which is why many prescribers recommend resistance training. If it's relevant to you, mention it in your own words whenever it comes up and Casey will factor it into your program, the same way she handles any other physical detail you share. Casey doesn't ask about this on her own, and she isn't a source of guidance on the medication itself, its dosing, or how you're feeling on it. That's a conversation for your doctor. What she can help with is the training side: a program built to maintain or build strength while your weight changes. Read more →
Xenos Fit is designed around a simple principle: we hold as little information about you as possible, and what we do hold can't easily be traced back to you. You're encouraged to sign up with an alias email and a preferred name rather than your legal name. We don't sell data, don't run ads, and don't use your information to market to you. If our data were ever breached, there'd be very little to find. Read more about how we approach privacy →
No. End-to-end encryption means the service can't read your messages, and Casey has to read your messages to coach you. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The main way we protect your privacy is by collecting less in the first place: we store only what Casey needs to coach you, we encourage alias emails and pseudonyms, and we never sell your data or share it for advertising. Data that can't be tied to you is worth very little to anyone who steals it.
No. There's no feed, no streaks, no leaderboard, and nothing to share. Xenos Fit is a private coaching relationship between you and Casey, not a social platform, and it's built that way on purpose. It's meant to encourage your engagement with exercise, not engagement with a screen.
Possibly, yes. HSA and FSA accounts can cover personal training expenses when a licensed healthcare provider has issued a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) confirming that training is medically appropriate for a diagnosed condition. Common qualifying conditions include obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal issues, but eligibility is specific to your health situation and your plan administrator's rules.
Xenos Fit can generate a dated PDF receipt suitable for submission to your HSA/FSA administrator. You'll find the receipt generator in your account. You provide whatever name you want on the document; we don't store it. You can submit that receipt along with an LMN you already have, or get one from your physician.
If you don't have an LMN, TrueMed is a service that connects you with a licensed provider who can review your eligibility. The process takes a few minutes online and costs $30 if you qualify (nothing if you don't). A qualifying LMN is valid for 12 months.
We can't guarantee reimbursement — that depends on your specific plan and health situation. But for users with a qualifying condition, the full cost of Xenos Fit may be reimbursable.
Yes, if your organization sponsors it. Xenos Fit is offered to employers as an employee benefit: your employer covers the cost, and you sign up with a link they share. Your employer sees only group totals, never your name or your training. The employer FAQ covers what employees ask, and this ready-to-send message makes it easy to suggest to your HR team.
$29/month, or $72 for three months (about $24/month). There's a 2-week free trial, which begins after your onboarding and program are in place. No long-term contracts.
Yes. Two weeks, starting from when your program is generated after onboarding. You get full access during that period.
Yes. No cancellation fees, no minimum commitment.
Tell her. Casey updates your program based on what you report. If something isn't right, describing what happened in the chat is how it gets fixed. If you want to flag something to a human, the Report an issue option is in the account menu.
No. Casey can program around physical constraints and will suggest seeing a physical therapist for anything significant, but she doesn't diagnose, prescribe rehabilitation, or tell you an exercise is safe for your specific condition. For medical questions, talk to a doctor.
